Guild Impact Month is going strong with employees volunteering across the nation. One effort that stands out to me comes from Gordon Fitzgerald, a Texas Loan Officer. He and his daughter Cordelia volunteer with the Crisis Assistance Center, which helps people experiencing financial crises. Gordon and Cordelia fundraise for the Center’s Duck Derby, an annual rubber duck race at the local water park. The ducks are released from a giant water slide into the lazy river and the first duck has a chance of winning a car for its sponsor. While Cordelia speaks at large events and has gone on the radio to sell tickets, Gordon wears a duck suit on race day to boost morale and take pictures with participants. As a financial institution leader, I’m passionate about helping those experiencing financial crisis. I’m proud that our employees and their families share the same passion.
