Guild Giving Foundation raises $735,000 for charities at the 2025 San Diego Guild for Good Golf Invitational
San Diego – February 02, 2026 – Guild Mortgage employees and sponsors raised a record $735,000 for four local and national charities at the 2025 Guild for Good Golf Invitational, presented by the Guild Giving Foundation.
The highly anticipated annual charity golf tournament, renamed this year to the Guild for Good Golf Invitational, featured Guild employees and sponsors from across the country. Participants gathered at The Country Club of Rancho Bernardo on October 8, 2025. Teams raised $115,000 more than the previous year.
“We created the Guild Giving Foundation as part of our mission to expand housing access for as many people as possible. A key part of that includes being active and a source of support in the communities we serve. The Guild for Good Golf Invitational is one of our biggest annual initiatives to actively support the communities we help, live in and work with, while shining a light on the generous sponsors who make this a success every year,” said Terry Schmidt, Chief Executive Officer of Guild Mortgage. “The charities we work with help to ensure that more people and families get to experience safety and stability in their everyday lives, and that’s exactly what the Guild Giving Foundation strives for.”
Guild Mortgage employees established the Guild Giving Foundation in 2016 to support giving initiatives, volunteer efforts and fundraising at both local and national levels. The golf tournaments are hosted in San Diego every year and debuted in multiple cities this year to reach regional teams and fundraise for community nonprofits.
Altogether, the multi-city golf tournaments generated approximately $992,120 in charity funds. The Twin Falls, Idaho invitational kicked off the golf tour and gathered $13,656.31 for the Magic Valley 911 Memorial charity. The Denver invitational generated $77,200 for Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Colorado Veterans’ Project and Colorado Homeownership Coalition. The Indiana event collected $12,406 for Young Life, Blackbird Mission and Big Brothers charities. The Reno, Nev. invitational raised $32,924 for The Children’s Cabinet and Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada. In Phoenix, attendees helped contribute $41,754 for Compassion Alliance and Underdog Rescue of Arizona. The event in South Carolina resulted in $43,180 for Autism Society of South Carolina and Camp Cole. Rounding out the year, the Las Vegas invitational secured $36,000 for Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation and SafeNest.
During this year’s San Diego event, a putting contest, meals, awards and auctions generated funds for local nonprofits Home Start San Diego and Lucky Duck Foundation—Seniors Safe At Home, as well as for national nonprofits MyPath2Own and Homes For Our Troops.
Home Start: Home Start is dedicated to strengthening families by addressing the root causes of family instability—poverty, unsafe neighborhoods, lack of affordable housing and unemployment—while concurrently addressing individual self-sufficiency and emotional needs.
Lucky Duck Foundation—Seniors Safe At Home: In collaboration with Serving Seniors and the San Diego Housing Commission, Seniors Safe At Home combats homelessness among the senior population by providing rental subsidies, case management and job navigation to help secure steady income.
MyPath2Own: MyPath2Own combines homebuyer education and financial assistance to prepare potential homebuyers who otherwise would not immediately qualify for a mortgage loan to become homeowners.
Homes For Our Troops: Started in 2004, Homes For Our Troops builds and donates specially adapted, custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives.
