Guild Mortgage recognized as a 13-time Top Workplace by the San Diego Union-Tribune
San Diego – December 1, 2025 – Guild Mortgage, a nationally recognized retail mortgage lender, was designated as a 2025 Top Workplace in the San Diego Union-Tribune. The achievement marks Guild’s 13th consecutive win in the annual awards. Additionally, Guild has been named as a Top Workplace every year since the award program launched.
The Top Workplaces awards are crucial benchmarks in measuring workforce satisfaction, as they are solely determined by employee feedback and not a judging committee. The survey is comprised of 25 confidential questions related to employee engagement and personal experience. To be considered for the awards, a response rate of at least 35 percent is required. Afterwards, companies are categorized depending on their workforce size and scored against proprietary research-backed internal criteria. Companies that meet or exceed this standard are named winners.
Surveyed Guild employees answered with exemplary feedback that surpassed industry standard scores. Respondents largely agreed that the company operates with strong values. Additionally, employees answered that they possess confidence in the leadership team, and that their supervisors demonstrate care for their concerns. When asked how they would describe their work culture, the most frequently used descriptors were collaborative, supportive, respectful, friendly, inclusive and displaying integrity.
“We stand apart as an organization because of our culture and commitment to ensuring every employee feels engaged, appreciated and heard,” said Guild Mortgage Chief Executive Officer Terry Schmidt. “Our employees are at the heart of our success, and I look forward to seeing just how much more we’ll achieve together in the years to come.”
Guild is committed to creating compassionate workplaces for team members of all backgrounds, as demonstrated by Guild’s additional recent achievement in securing Gold status for the 2026 Military Friendly® Employer award. Received for creating a supportive culture and offering abundant resources to service members, veterans and their families, cultivating a diverse and friendly work environment for all employees is a priority for the company.
Having started as a single office in 1960 in San Diego, where the company maintains its headquarters today, Guild has grown to become a national brand and a top five retail mortgage lender largely due to the collaborative success of its teams in Southern California and nationwide.
