Guild Mortgage Promotes Rob Dawson to National Builder Division Manager

Dawson will lead Guild’s builder initiatives, including builder loan officer training, certification and marketing

SAN DIEGO – Guild Mortgage, one of the fastest-growing independent mortgage lenders in the country, has promoted Rob Dawson to manager of the National Builder Division. He will oversee the company’s home builder relationships, builder loan officer training and certification and development of builder marketing and promotional strategies.

In his expanded role, Dawson will manage builder-focused origination teams and operations, standardize home builder services, analyze production and customer satisfaction and represent Guild at industry events. One major initiative is to champion the development of additional products and services to support Guild’s home builder clientele. Dawson reports to Barry Horn, executive vice president of National Production.

“Rob is an experienced, results-driven manager and perfect for developing our builder division,” Horn said. “He has extensive home builder and mortgage experience and is an incredibly valuable member of our team. I look forward to seeing how Rob builds out the division and fosters ongoing success in this area.” Dawson joined Guild in 2016 as a Business Solutions Advisor, before being promoted to manager to the National Builder Division. In addition to leading national builder initiatives and operations at Guild, he is heavily involved in cross-departmental committees, industry events, conferences and educational opportunities. Through participation in these events and groups, Dawson has experience in the many intricacies of developing a new division and seeing it grow.

Before joining Guild, Dawson held executive roles in both the mortgage banking and home building industries in various capacities, including sales, operations, service provider oversight and strategic planning.

Dawson graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He lives in San Diego with his wife and 10-year-old daughter. In addition, Dawson focuses his efforts in improving the local community through volunteer work with the Educational Foundation at his daughter’s elementary school.
