James Madsen oversees Guild Mortgage’s loan administration division and is responsible for enhancing overall customer experience. He also manages operations from customer service through default loan management and leads Guild’s investor reporting relationships with the GSEs.
Under his leadership, Guild has earned a STAR™ Performer recognition from Fannie Mae each of the last two years. Considered one of the industry’s top awards, the STAR program seeks to define best practices across the servicing community, provide a consistent methodology for measurement, and identify and recognize Fannie Mae’s top servicers. Guild was honored for its competency, capacity and overall performance in general servicing in 2017 and 2018.
Mr. Madsen has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, including leadership positions in mortgage and auto finance. His experience includes operational roles, special servicing, and investor and financial reporting.
He joined Guild in 2014 from GMAC/Ocwen, where he was a project lead and served in a compliance role. Mr. Madsen graduated from Colorado College with a B.A. in economics in 1981 and earned his MBA from San Diego State University in 1986. He serves on the board of directors for Urban Corps of San Diego, a nonprofit organization giving underserved, low-income young adults the opportunity to improve themselves and their local communities.
